About Me

My name is Bethany Keene and I am the founder of Keene Cockers. I am in my late 20's and have had American Cocker Spaniels in my life from the day I was born. I graduated with my bachelor's degree in Animal Science from the University of Connecticut in 2019 and work full time at a small animal hospital. When I am not working you can find me with my pups either at a dog show or at home relaxing with the rest of my family.

My family has grown up with American Cocker Spaniels for many years starting back to when my great grandparents bred them. Since then my family through generations have had many of them. My immediate family and I have had American Cocker Spaniels in the house since I was born and even before but I got my very own when I was 10 years old (2007)! (Read more about Bailey in "Bailey" section listed in the menu above). I showed Bailey through my younger teenage years till the age of 18 in 4H and Juniors (AKC).

I received my first Cocker Spaniel for the breed ring after graduating college in 2019 (Brandi) from my amazing mentors and co breeder's Judith and Eric Webb (founders of Soundview Cocker Spaniels). Soon after that I received my next show dog in early 2020 (Barnum). Little did I know this was just the beginning to the most amazing start of Keene Cockers and since then it has continued to grow.

The love I have for this breed is enormous. My mission is to breed merry and healthy American Cocker Spaniels based on the breed standard for many disciplines but especially to be the best companion dogs to people and families everywhere.
